Museum of ...ING (Proposal)

My second idea is Museum ofING.

Concept:

Museum ofING provides an experience of something in the process.

It’s not going to show any finished objects, art products. Instead, it will show the process, the process of things goes in a different stage. The atmosphere of MoING is dynamic and active.MoING is dynamic and active.

The goal of MoING encourages people to visit frequently to observe different stage of the process, to observe their participation result in the change of objects.

For example, people can add elements into a plant and change the process of their growth.

Content:

The content of Museum ofING includes generative process, involves different kinds of interaction to allow people to change the process. People even can sign up a specific object to cultivate and observe the process over time. …ING includes generative process, involves different kinds of interaction to allow people to change the process. People even can sign up a specific object to cultivate and observe the process over time.

Architecture/Building:

If it is a Museum of ING, so the building of this museum is always in the process as well. So people can replay or implement it anytime. The architecture is changing.

Layout:

-Gallery Space:

This space will host exhibitions to demonstrate the process objects, pieces, growing things. It may not allow people to participate but encourage people to come again.

-Experience Space:

In this space, the museum allows people to participate the process of forming things, their involvement may influence immediately or over years. (Time)

-Research:

MoING also researches on some kind of invisible process that we won’t able to see normally or the process we always ignore.

Collections:

1.

Damien Hirst drawing machine

2.

3.Amber

4.The process of people falls in love: Dopamine

5.

6.Sand Mandalas

Once completed, sand mandalas are ritualistically destroyed in a way that symbolizes the Buddhist belief that nothing in our world is permanent.

Question:

1. What kind of interaction and participation can demonstrate the process?

2.What kind of technology can reveal process, especially, some invisible process?

3. What kind of process are people most curious about?

4. How to arouse them to participate?
